John as the Underwriting Director for Burns & Wilcox United Kingdom is responsible for delivering sustainable underwriting profitability for the business. Prior to joining Burns & Wilcox John spent 8 years at Aviva establishing their corporate and speciality business as their Chief Underwriting Officer. John has over 35 years underwriting experience in the UK both in the regional and London markets and is ACII Chartered qualified. John started his career at RSA and over 16 years worked in various underwriting management roles in their Property and Packages teams. In 2001 John helped establish the new start up syndicate Mitsui Sumitomo where he progressed to Class Underwriter, Property.
